Kia Seltos Tents

FAQs

It depends on the tent. One of the biggest advantages of a Sportz SUV tent is that you can disconnect your vehicle from the tent and drive away while leaving your campsite set up. Simply detach the vehicle sleeve, secure the tent, and reconnect your vehicle when you return. The Backroadz SUV tent can be detached, but does not act as a standalone tent, so your tent may be more exposed to the elements when you depart.

Most campers can set up a Napier SUV tent in approximately 15–25 minutes after becoming familiar with the process. First-time setup may take a little longer, but detailed instructions and setup videos are available to help.

When installed correctly, the vehicle attachment sleeve is designed to fit snugly around your vehicle, helping reduce gaps where insects could enter. While no fabric sleeve can create a completely airtight seal on every vehicle, proper installation provides excellent protection when paired with the tent's screened doors and windows.

Both tents transform your vehicle into a comfortable campsite, but they're designed for different campers. The Sportz SUV Tent offers premium features like an awning, additional windows and doors, and upgraded materials for extended camping trips. The Backroadz SUV Tent provides a lightweight, budget-friendly option that delivers the same convenient vehicle connection in a simpler design.

We do not recommend running your vehicle while the tent is attached, as exhaust fumes can accumulate around the tent and create a serious carbon monoxide hazard. Always turn off your engine while camping and follow your vehicle manufacturer's recommendations for any idle or camping mode. If you have an EV, please consult your manufacturer's guide for more information.

Napier SUV tents are equipped with a universal vehicle sleeve designed to fit a wide range of SUVs, CUVs, minivans, crossovers, and many pickup trucks with camper shells. As long as your vehicle is not above 80" in height with the tailgate open, the sleeve should fit.

Yes. Napier SUV tents are made from durable, water-resistant polyester and include a full rainfly to help keep you dry during wet weather. Like any tent, proper setup and staking are important for the best weather protection, and we recommend allowing your tent to dry completely before storing it.

Yes. Many campers use the tent as an extension of their vehicle, sleeping inside the cargo area while using the tent for extra living or storage space. Others choose to sleep inside the tent itself. The setup gives you the flexibility to camp the way that's most comfortable for you.

Yes. Napier SUV tents are compatible with many SUVs, crossovers, hatchbacks, minivans, and pickup trucks equipped with camper shells. Compatibility depends on your vehicle's design, so we recommend using our Shop by Vehicle menu or contacting Customer Service if you have questions.

The mesh used on the Napier Tents is a fine polyester mesh designed to block small insects, including midges. While it is not No-See-Um branded mesh, it is made to the same mesh specifications and provides comparable protection against small insects.

Napier SUV tents are designed for three-season camping and are built to perform in a variety of typical outdoor conditions. However, we do not assign official UV or wind ratings to our tents.

Weather performance depends on factors such as setup, terrain, wind direction, and campsite conditions. For the best experience, use all included guy lines and stakes, and avoid camping in severe weather or high winds. If extreme weather is expected, it's safest to take down your tent until conditions improve.
