Best bang for your buck!!

I’ve been wanting to get one of these tents for a while now and this was one of the most affordable ones I’ve seen. The quality is amazing, instructions are very clear. I was concerned about the practicality since I still need to use my car & you can’t drive with it on (obviously). It took me 5 minutes to set it up all by myself. I definitely recommend practicing setting up and taking it down before actually using it so you can be strategic while “camping”. All in all I am very satisfied, it is extremely practical, extremely happy about this purchase, would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! Shipping was also very fast, i purchased on Sunday and it got delivered on Tuesday!!

C'est génial, facile à installer même pour moi à 64 ans. C'est étanche car, y a eu un orage et je n'ai une goutte d'eau qui s'est infiltrée.

Truck Camping

Bought as was looking for a solution to truck camp with. Yes it is supposed to be for an SUV was able to make it work with an older small pick up with truck cap.Used it truck camping to minimize bugs while sleeping. It will most likely not work with other pick ups that are larger. Too bad this is not offered in a version that would work with a pick up with a truck cap.

Perfect hatchback tent

This is an awesome hatchback tent, I camped once before without one and then the next time with this one and I must say I was digging it! Takes car camping to the next level. First time setting up was ok but you’ll get better the second time. Easy to take down and pack away.

Good but not a tight fit

It doesn’t fit tight around the vehicle, I have to put weights on top so critters don’t have a way to get inside. Maybe different types/shapes of vehicles are better for it? Otherwise I do really like it and I’m glad I don’t use a ground tent anymore.

Ready to go!

Received it today and anxious to try it out. Our 2010 Santa Fe works perfect on this tent. Easy to assemble and fits great. Having both a screen and privacy shade is nice. Only 1 area is the bottom of the door corners rubs on the tent when lifted up. I just put a piece of foam on the corners as a precaution. All and all very satisfied.

Love this tent!!

I am not really into camping but my husband is. He sleeps hardcore, in a hammock at night with a tarp. I get cold and scared lol. So I bought this on a whim, and he set it up for me (took maybe 3 mins), and lemme tell ya - I am obsessed. We’ve gone camping 3 times in the last month because I am enjoying it much more now! It has good air flow and the car is so much darker than a tent, so I sleep in till 9:30 in here. I love everything about it except the tiny bag it came in - you can see in one of the photos that it’s just thrown in the back lol. I got a “human dog bed” for the car as well and some small fairy lights to make it cozier. I am afraid of everything but feel so safe and secure in this tent. I couldn’t be more pleased! It is a great price for the quality and doesn’t really have to be aired out after using it because it doesn’t touch the ground.

. Perfect for my wagon as solo-camper!

I reported shattered and broken pole which punched a hole on the awning. It's been a great product but I’m glad warranty exist and getting a new set! Thank you Napier!Update:2022. 7 months - pole shattered on one section and another section broke during a gusty evening. I would have been okay with that as I can look for a replacement. However it tore part of the awning where the pole goes through. Now it’s concerning me whether the product will hold long. I was pleased with the build and material but I’m a bit sceptical now. I love the product tho. Dear Napier: Help. Photos attachedI purchased model 61000 its the smallest that would fit our Audi A4 Allroad. This also fits well on our 2018 Hyundai Tucson. As far as fitting- one person can set it up in about 5-7mins. it slips onto the hatch door, attached onto the roof rack (if you don’t have a roof rack- they provide extensions to hook onto front mirrors.) Additional buckles secures onto the wheelwell, but I hook it up on my rear wheels instead. At this price, it is a whole lot cheaper than a RTT. However you only have the space that your car, in this case the audi Allroad, can provide - usually good for solo campers, a pinch for two. So of course an RTT would provide a better room to sleep for two or more(?). There are minimal gaps on the side and on top where the hatch and the rear roof meets. (See last couple of photos- The gap is not that bad since the actual material extends forward where it’s hooked up to the roof rack rails). Masking tape may help provide more “seal” but its truly not bad. It was a cold night when I had a trial (and wind advisory) but it held up well and provided shield from the cold air. You cannot turn on the engine to heat up the car as the bottom part of the attachment covers the exhaust. However, it doesn’t mean modifications could not be made to allow engine running while this is on. Having said that, I have a portable stove/ heater that sits in the back if I need a little bit of warmth (also have a 200w mini electric heater i use sometimes). With this tent on, it allows me to sit up at the back end of the cargo area and have privacy from the elements. I’m only 5’10” so it works well for me. Quality I have to say is excellent, good materials , good zippers. It does have a built in bug-screen along with the solid flap to shield from the weather. I am looking forward on my next camp out (when there’s no wind advisory whipping up 60mph gusts. Lol) This would be perfect this summer!

VERY Disappointed with the quality and fit... test before taking it on a trip!

I purchased the Napier Sportz Cove for a cross-country car-camping road trip I’m planning for September and October, during which I’ll be setting it up and taking it down nearly every night in a new location. Unfortunately, my initial setup in the driveway revealed several serious concerns.First, I discovered a small triangular hole in the fabric (see image). Then, while installing the telescoping poles, one of them fractured and began splintering the fiberglass (see image). In my decades of camping, I have never had a tent pole fail this way during setup.I was also disappointed by the fit. Although the product is advertised as fitting “small to large SUVs,” the reinforced corners do not align with the corners of my hatch. This places tension on an area of the tent that is not reinforced. Additionally, there is a sizable gap between the roof of my vehicle and the tent, which could allow insects or rain to enter.Once everything was assembled, the canopy was not centered and leaned toward the passenger side. This makes me wonder whether the incorrect number or configuration of telescoping poles was included. The tent may function adequately for occasional use or a few setup-and-takedown cycles, but I am not confident that it will hold up to a month of daily car camping in changing locations. I rarely write reviews, but I wanted to share these concerns with other customers—and with Napier.

Correct fit, great for a weekend away.

Wasn’t expecting this to fit the vehicle so well. Very secure and kept bugs out. I liked how it went with a tenting site. Will try in rain sometime possibly.I have tried it in rain and works well if all straps are connected correctly. The material is really helpful in preventing water seeping through.

Nice tailgate shelter

I used this on a rainy night of camping and did not get any water into the car. Usually I use high-quality backpacking tents, so the quality of materials making up this tent were very different. Still, it felt like it would be sturdy and a good value for the money. This medium/large tent fit my Hyundai Santa Fe tailgate exactly corner to corner. The way the tent clips onto the plastic lining of the wheel wells did not feel sturdy. If it had been windy I would've worried about damaging the wheel wells. It was relatively easy to attach the tent to the car, but it did take longer than five minutes because my car is tall and harder to reach. Make sure you have some dirt to stake out the awning into. I was impressed that even though my bumper was covered with gravel from the wet campground roads, the dirt seemed to fall off easily from the part of the tent covering the bumper. I'd recommend this tent as a novelty shelter to use in fair weather.

Easy, practical hatchback tent.

Works as expected, and fits a 2014 Prius. It was easy to set up, even in the dark. It gives you enough room to sit up and move around a bit, and it also gives you a little more leg room. It's not luxury, but if you want luxury you probably shouldn't sleep in your car.Right now, I'm happy with the purchase.Update: This tent will not hold up in an extreme storm. Last night I was camping when a flash thunderstorm with 40-50 mph winds hit. The tent did not hold up well in extreme wind; the awning turned this thing onto a sail and left the open hatch completely exposed. I had to close the hatch to keep water from pouring in. My brother's $80 Coleman tent held up fine however. In mild to medium kind of rain and wind, this tent has done fine. But an extreme storm renders it useless. Maybe some high powered magnetic strips would have helped, but be aware of the weather before setting up.I have also realized it's not 100% bug tight, and there are a few spots by the awnings pole bases where bugs can get in. I dropped the review from 5 stats to 3 after this update. This tent would be a much better deal if it was about half the price.

Fantastic and fun for car camping!

Perfect on my Honda Fit. Took a bit of fussing and choice words to set up the first time, instructions were unclear. Kept me warm and dry during hard thunderstorms and offered shade in full sun. Love the zip up rain fly over the screen. The only drawback is its substantial weight. This may have stressed the hatchback hydraulic arms, which failed on the third use in one season. But a few mechanical items have failed on the car, so I can't attribute the failure to the product.
