Truck Tent
FAQs
FAQs
Can you fit a tent over a bed toolbox?
Yes, if the toolbox sits a few inches above the truck bed. If it's metal, cover sharp corners with a towel to prevent tent damage. Keep in mind, the toolbox will reduce usable sleeping space.
Will the tent fit with sports bars, roll bars, or bed rails?
Bed rails are compatible if they're less than 3" tall. Sports bars and roll bars must be removed before installing the tent.
Will the tent fit with a tonneau cover?
Our truck tents will fit over Roll-Up Tonneau Covers if the rolled-up tonneau cover is less than 6" high. Please see our Tonneau Cover Guide (in the product images) for more information.
Can I close my truck's tailgate with the tent installed?
No. Truck tents are designed to be used with the tailgate in the open position during use.
Can I use a truck tent with a camper shell (truck cap)?
No. Truck tents require an open truck bed and cannot be used with a camper shell or truck cap installed. Have a camper shell? An SUV tent may be a better fit.
Will the truck tent work with a back rack (headache rack)?
As long as the back rack does not intrude onto the rails of the truck too far, it should not impact the functionality of the tent. Please email help@napieroutdoors.com with a photo or the exact model of your back rack to determine if the rack is compatible.
Will the tent fit with my tonneau cover?
It depends on the type of cover you have.
Both tents turn your truck bed into a campsite, but the right one depends on how you like to explore.
Can one person set-up a Napier Truck Tent by themselves? How long will it take?
Yes. One person is able to set up a Napier Truck Tent, however we do recommend having assistance during the first set-up. The first set-up should take approximately 15-20 minutes and about 10-15 minutes each time thereafter. Each tent comes with set-up instructions and color-coded poles for easy assembly.
