Begin by measuring the bed of your truck with the tailgate closed. Our sizing guides will help you determine which tent is compatible with your truck. Our website also displays a sizing chart for your convenience.
No. Driving with the tent mounted to your vehicle may cause personal injury and/or damage to your tent and truck.
Yes. The tent will work with a sprayed, mat, or prefabricated liner.
Railings will work as long as they are less than 3” tall. Roll and sports bars must be removed.
No. Truck Tents will not work as long as the camper shell/cap is assembled. Napier SUV Tents are the best option as long as the height from the ground to the highest point of the cap window/door does not exceed 80”.
Please refer to the Warranty section on the website.
Yes. One person is able to set up a Napier Truck Tent, however we do recommend having assistance during the first set-up. The first set-up should take approximately 15 minutes and about 10 minutes each time thereafter. Each tent comes with set-up instructions and color-coded poles for easy assembly.
Yes. We recommend placing the tent over the toolbox to minimize the amount of water that could enter between the box and the tent. It is also recommended to cover the corners of the toolbox to protect the tent from ripping on sharp edges. Please note that you will lose the amount of space that the toolbox occupies.
Our truck tents will fit over Roll-Up Tonneau Covers if the rolled-up tonneau cover is less than 6” high
As long as the back rack does not intrude onto the rails of the truck too far, it should not impact the functionality of the tent. Please email customerservice@napieroutdoors.com with a photo or the exact model of your back rack to determine if the rack is compatible.
There is a one-year manufacturer defect warranty. Please consult the Warranty section on the website.
Our tents already have a water-resistant coating on them. However, the coating may wear down over time and you may want to spray a water repellent coating onto the tent and rainfly after a few years of use. For additional protection and product maintenance, you may wish to use a seam sealant on your tent.

I just purchased a Napier Backroadz compact to use with my 2022 Rivian R1T. Before purchasing I couldn’t find a single example of anyone trying this on a Rivian. The bed length on the Rivian is not quite 5 foot long but the tailgate articulates allowing for a longer than normal extended length. This works out great and allows this product to fit really well. The front corners can be run inside the gear tunnel and to each other which makes for a nice tight fit. The tent was easy to set up and seems like it is going to work really well.

I have made two long trips, sleeping 10 and 12 nights in my tent. I have a Tacoma truck, with a removable, trifold cover. I leave the bedroll, etc in the tent, take the poles out, put the cover back on the truck bed, and off I go! It is very easy to set up and take down. My only complaint has to do with the poles. They are light weight and easily damaged. The vestibule pole is too long, and requires too much tension when set up. I have had two, and both had a section that splintered. I have two other poles that were broken with routine set up and use. Everything else is awesome

One woman setup. It was fairly easy. While my granddaughter and her friend occupied themselves, I set up the tents. I purchased the suv tent also as an extension to give us more room for our gear. Love these tents. The complaints about the poles are correct. I could hear the fiberglass, but they faired ok. I still recommend these tents. My first was the sportz suv. The second was the sportz truck tent. The backroadz with the backroadz suv is my third.

I purchased this tent over a year ago, but never had a chance to use it until now with a cross country road trip. It is awesome. Easy to set up, even in the dark. I either rolled it up with a cushion for a mattress inside it or left it all set without the poles in the bed of the truck and with the tonneau cover over everything. Cold nights and moderate wind didn’t make a difference at all.

We’ve had this tent for 2 summers now and it is fantastic! Tall interior is great for getting changed etc. We have a tacoma long bed and put a platform inside the bed so we can have a futon mattress inside. Two pluses are 1) you’re off the bed of the truck so can sit on end of mattress and still be inside the tent and 2) sleeping on a proper mattress. We do all this before we leave then fold everything in and put the tonneau cover on top. Stealth!

My Backroadz tent arrived yesterday evening before dark.
Fist time setting it up took 20 minutes trying to be careful not to miss anything.
Some difficulty getting poles into place and through a struggle learning curve realized if you lossen all tie downs it expedited the installation.
Once fully in place and tightened down the next struggle was the rain fly.
It fits the front or cab end well yet at the tailgate the angels are off.
Workmen ship around side windows are not as clean as one might expect however it is secure.
Door has only one set of toggles to hold both door and screen a second set would be nice for the screen door otherwise it just hangs waiting to be damaged.
These are minor things that are noticeable .
On the positive side!
Roomy interior and the roof vent a big score for me.
Fits snugly to my 2011 Ram1500 and once completely closed up took the garden hose test without a leak.
The price was fair and worth what I received.
Even some friends are looking to get one now after seeing what I have !

This tent was the perfect addition for my camping/fishing expeditions. It fit my 2011 Chev Silverado Crew Cab perfectly. I can set it up by myself in about 15 minutes. I’ve used it in wind and rain and it stood up to both, tremendously. Paired with an air mattress that fits the bed of my truck, I’ve had the best sleeps I’ve ever had in a tent.
