Product Recall Notice: Backroadz Camo Truck Tent
Napier Outdoors is committed to the safety and satisfaction of our customers. We are issuing this recall notice regarding certain Backroadz Camo Truck Tents to proactively address a product performance issue and ensure our customers receive products that meet Napier’s standards for quality, durability, and performance.
What is the Issue?
We have identified an issue affecting the black interior coating of the camouflage material used on the Backroadz Camo Truck Tents that is deteriorating over time. The issue may cause the black coating on the inside of the tent and rainfly to flake, peel or rub off during use. While the coating substance is not hazardous to your health, the issue may affect the tent’s water resistance and waterproofing performance.
As the affected coating may deteriorate over time and compromise the tent’s water resistance, Napier is proactively addressing the issue by replacing affected tents with a product that meets our standards for quality, durability, and performance.
What Products are Affected?
The following Backroadz Camo Truck Tent models from the affected production batches are included in this recall:
- 19122
- 19133
- 19144
- 19166
All production codes beginning with 2021 or 2022 are affected. For example: 2021-81.
Where to Find Your Production Code
- Carrying Bag: The production code is stapled on the back of the warning label sewn to the carrying bag.
- Tent Interior Pocket: The production code can be found on the small tag sewn on the large warning label inside the tent.

If you own a Backroadz Camo Truck Tent, please check the model number and production information to determine whether your tent is affected. If your tent is affected, please submit a claim using the link below so we can assist you with the next steps.
Our Commitment to You
If your tent is confirmed to be part of an affected production batch, Napier will replace your Backroadz Camo Truck Tent with an upgraded Sportz Truck Tent at no cost to you. The Sportz Truck Tent features enhanced design features, premium materials, and a different water-resistant coating that is not affected by this issue.
Once your claim has been submitted and confirmed, our Customer Service team will contact you with instructions for the replacement process. We understand that your tent is an important part of your outdoor adventures, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this issue may cause. Our priority is to ensure that you receive a product you can rely on and enjoy with confidence.
Your Backroadz Camo Truck Tent is affected if it is one of the following models: 19122, 19133, 19144, or 19166, and has a production code beginning with 2021 or 2022.
The production code can be found on the back of the warning label sewn to the carrying bag or on the small tag located above the large warning label inside the tent. Please refer to the images above for help locating your production code.
While the affected coating is not hazardous to your health, deterioration of the coating may reduce the tent’s water resistance and waterproofing performance. We recommend submitting a recall claim so your affected tent can be replaced.

The Backroadz Camo Truck Tent is no longer available for replacement. To ensure affected customers receive a tent that meets Napier’s standards for quality, durability, and performance, we are replacing eligible tents with an upgraded Sportz Truck Tent at no cost.
The Sportz Truck Tent features premium materials, enhanced design features, and a different water-resistant coating that is not affected by this issue.
No, proof of purchase is not required to submit a claim.
Yes. You can submit a claim for a replacement tent. If you would prefer a
refund instead of a replacement, please contact the retailer where you
originally purchased your tent, as refunds must be processed through the
original place of purchase.
Once your claim has been submitted, our Customer Service team will review the information provided to confirm that your tent is part of an affected production batch. Once your claim has been approved and the replacement process has been completed, your Sportz Truck Tent will be prepared for shipment.
No, you do not need to return the tent.
